Summer is a great time for entertaining, and it’s also a great time to bring out some creative and thoughtful ideas for food, décor, and spending time with family and friends. Here you’ll find three ideas for making your summer party even more fun:

Create a transition table. If you have a table with an umbrella, you can turn it from day to night in a few seconds, and it will look incredible. This idea is simple but great: hang lanterns from the underside of the umbrella.

While the sun is out, you’ll have shade from the umbrella and color from the lanterns—then, when the sun goes down, turn on the lights for a unique, intimate glow over your table!

Keep drinks stylishly cold. Replace your plastic cooler with a galvanized tub filled with ice. You can find decorated and stylized versions at furniture and home goods stores. When you fill one of these tubs with ice, they metal holds onto the cold, keeping your drinks icy for hours.

S’mores by the fire pit. There are few ways to end a summer party that are better than by firelight. If you have the opportunity and ability to safely light a fire for you and your guests, go for it! The moments spent around a small fire chatting, laughing, eating, and drinking are the kind of moments your friends and family will remember for many summers to come.
